New Student Employees
Once you have received a job offer, students who have not previously worked on campus must complete all pre-employment paperwork and present proper I-9 identification. Students who have worked a university job do not need to complete pre-employment paperwork unless you have unenrolled from the University and are returning.
What do I need to do to start work on campus?
Step 1) After securing your job, notify your manager when you plan to visit Human Resources or meet with the Office of International Taxation (OIT).
Students who are U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents must bring your unexpired, original I-9 documents with you to Human Resources in Weinstein Hall. A list of acceptable I-9 documents can be found here.
International Students can follow the steps listed here.
You cannot begin working on campus and gain Workday access until you have completed these steps.
Step 2) Complete the State Tax and Federal Income Tax forms on your Workday profile.
Step 3) If you would like your paycheck direct deposited, you can complete the Payment Election Enrollment task through Workday or you can visit the Payroll office in Maryland Hall.
Step 4) Please review the Student Handbook before starting your first job.
Step 5) Once you begin work, you will check-in and check-out for every shift worked using Workday. Information on clocking-in and out can be found here.
Please contact Human Resources at URHR@richmond.edu if you have any questions about the onboarding process for student employment.
